Rory Gilmore Challenge

I'm excited about this challenge. I've looked at this list on List of Bests for a while now and this challenge is just what I need to push myself to work on it. It's an ongoing challenge so there aren't any deadlines and that's a definite plus for me. Here are the books that I've already read and I'll add the rest as I read them.
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandar Dumas
Emma by Jane Austen
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
Wicked by Gregory Maguire (abandoned due to objectionable content)

I LOVE this!!!! Gilmore Girls was one of my favorite shows ever for two reasons: 1) the pace/wittiness of the dialogue and 2) the barrage of references to literature/music/art/etc. in every episode. I used to watch just to see how many of them I could get. I wish I'd thought of this challenge first! My New Year's resolution is to finish what I start so I'm going to finish my A-Z list first, but I can't wait to do this! I've read 37 of the 250 before and there are several on the list I've always wanted to read.
